Today,
We, the theatre troupe of Yosemite High School, performed a preview of the spring musical Once Upon A Mattress.
We went to Oakhurst Elementary and Oak Creek Intermediate to strut our stuff.
For those of you who don't know, Once Upon a Mattress is a musical loosely based off of princess and the pea. No one in the kingdom may get married until prince Dauntless does. This has been ordered by evil Queen Aggravain who comes up with unfair tests with her side-kick, wizard Cardamon, to test princesses with when they come seeking Dauntless's hand in marriage. One day, an unconventional princess Winnifred shows up and turns the kingdom upside down as the Jester, King, the Minstrel, Lady Larken, Sir Harry and maidens and knights of the kingdom try to find out what Winnifred's test is so she can pass it, get married to Dauntless and allow everyone in the kingdom to get married as well.
It's actually entertaining.
We performed 4 songs from the musical including Opening for a Princess, Sensitivity, Very Soft Shoes and The Spanish Panic.
I am the Jester and I got to sing and dance to Very Soft Shoes :)
It was fun.
And now, tomorrow, day two of the show continues on at Rivergold, Coarsegold and Wasuma k-8.
To be continued...
